Customer Review: Can’t live without it
The spiral binding keeps this cookbook laying flat while I cook. Received very quickly and in great condition.
Customer Review: My newest favorite cookbook
Healthy flavorful recipes made from ingredients you probably already have, or will be easily found in the local grocery store. Most recipes come with a Time-Saver tip or a suggestion for a side dish.
Each recipe ends with a breakdown of per serving: calories, fat, sat fat, trans fat, cholesterol, sodium, carbs, fiber, protein, and of course, points.
A lot of the recipes are for suitable for lunches or dinners. There are very few for breakfast, soups, salads, or desserts. (This actually suits me just fine.)
The spiral bound spine allows the book to lie flat on the counter. Sturdy hard cover. Appetizing pictures.
So why only 4 stars? For some odd reason, the ingredient lists are printed in a light grey color. The instructions are normal black color. I find my tired old eyes squinting to read the ingredients. Annoying.
Not annoying enough to dampen my enthusiasm or lessen my recommendation for my newest favorite cookbook!

A registered dietitian, Ellie is also a lover and proponent of good, fresh food, simply but deliciously prepared. And she’s not about denial–no nonfat foods here, because when you take the fat out of natural foods, in go the chemicals. Don’t deny yourself butter–use a pat of it, but put it front and center on those mashed potatoes, so you can revel in it with all your senses. The Food You Crave is all you’ll need to change the way you eat and change the way you feel. It contains 200 recipes that cover every meal of the day and every craving you might have. Every recipe contains a complete nutritional breakdown, as well as tips on ingredients and techniques that will keep you eating smart and eating well.
Customer Review: Nice addition to the library
I’ve tried several of the receipes so far, and all have been excellent. Some of the main courses are a little time consuming (close to 2 hours for the lasagna rollups and chicken pot pie), so might be better suited for weekend cooking. But all in all the recipes are excellent, simple in style, well written and easy to follow.
Pros:
easy to follow
classic dishes
avoids weird “diet” chemical products
emphasizes health over weight loss
Nice book. Attractive pictures, nice format

Sweet White Sorghum Berries, 1 lb. Sweet white sorghum is the sweetest tasting, healthiest, and most digestable of the sorghum grains.
Customer Review: Same here!
I saw the same program this evening and this is the only place I could find sorghum for sale. I’m SO excited to try it!
Customer Review: Made tasty popcorn
I purchased this to make “popcorn”, which I saw on Andrew Zimmern’s Bizarre Foods (Ethiopia episode, season three). I placed a small pot with a lid on medium-high heat with some canola oil. I added the sorghum, and then kept the kernels moving. Amazingly, they actually started popping. I half-expected them to simply burn, but they popped quite nicely. Sorghum kernels are very small, producing a miniature “popcorn” that is slightly larger than an unpopped popcorn kernel. Popped sorghum has a heavier, fuller taste than regular popcorn. Best of all, there are no kernel husks in the end result… just little fluffy popped sorghum. I experimented with popping different quantities and found that keeping the amount limited works best. With larger quantities, a significant number of the kernels did not pop. However, this wasn’t all that bad… as the unpopped sorghum kernels were very delicious as well, not at all hard or crunchy. The unpopped kernels had a nice toasted flavor, a lot like corn nuts.

Authentic Foods Brown Rice Flour Superfine Superfine Brown Rice Flour is stone-milled from U.S. #1 California medium-grain rice-the best grain size for gluten-free baking. With a mildly sweet, nutty flavor, this flour can be substituted with other non-gluten flours to make bakery goods without providing the grittiness associated with most rice flours. Our Superfine Brown Rice Flour contains more vitamins, more proteins, and more fiber than white rice flour. Approximately 7% protein, 70% carbohydrates, 5% dietary fiber, and 2% fat. It is packed in a 3 Lb foil bag with a shelf life of 6 to 9 months.
Customer Review: Great stuff!
I read about this in “Gluten-Free Baking Classics” by Annelise Roberts, so I ordered some. What a difference! Love it! No grittiness in my GF baked goods. Thanks!
Customer Review: Great but . . shipping . .
I also bought this flour based on a recomendation from the book Gluten Free Baking Basics, which i bought from this site (and love!). It is true that this rice flour is the best quality rice flour I’ve used yet - however, for me the shipping cost as much as the flour, which i found hard to live with. You can get white rice flour at an asian market, much cheaper, and also a fine ground. However, the texture when using the asian white rice flour is a bit gummier - this brown rice flour has a much better texture. I’m only rating at 4 stars due to the craziness of having to ship flour.
